Back in October of last year news broke that Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in her hotel out in Paris. Robbers got away with an estimated amount of $10 million in jewelry.
After returning to the states she pretty much laid low and even took a break from social media, up until recently.
On Monday French police announced that they have detained 16 people in connection to the robbery.
According to Rolling Stone, police say the arrests were made in various locations throughout Paris, and that the suspects involved range from the ages of 23 to 72. The police have up to 96 hours to formally charge the suspects or let them go.
If charged, they will be charged with “robbery with organized gun, confinement and association of perpetrators.”
Europe 1 reports that the investigation revolved around a fingerprint that was left at the crime scene. From there they were able to identify one suspect. They placed surveillance on that suspect, and were able to piece together the entire crew.
Jean Veil, the Kardashian’s lawyer in Paris said, “These arrests are a nice surprise because we might be able to find the jewels.”
In a recent promotional clip for an upcoming season of Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s, fans were able to see Kim’s initial thoughts and emotions following the incident.
