A family is mourning the death of 19-year-old Fredzania Thompson after she was struck by a train during a photo shoot. She was a former student at Blinn College but decided to put her schooling on hold to pursue a modeling career. Unfortunately, this path would ultimately take her life.
During a photo shoot on Friday, police say that Thompson was standing on some train tracks, but when she saw a BNSF Railway train coming she moved out of the way. What she did not realize was that a Union Pacific train was coming from the opposite direction and she was struck. The photographer was not injured.
Friends and family of Thompson celebrated her life on Monday and her fiancé, Darnell Chatman, shared his thoughts about her.
“She was always trying to be the helper. That’s what I use to call her because she was always trying to help people,” he said.
We offer our condolences to the family.
