Have You Been A Victim Of #AirBnBWhileBlack?

About a month ago, a guy named, Gregory Selden, took to Twitter to let people know that he was being discriminated against while he was shopping on AirBnB , and now the 25-year-old has decided
to take legal action on the issue.

Here is what happened: Selden, who is African-American, decided to request a booking from his own personal profile and was denied. Selden peeped something fishy and that’s when he decided to create a
fake profile with a fake picture and request the booking again. Selden got the booking he wanted.

According Love B. Scott, the housing service has received a class action lawsuit and its being reported that Selden actually reached out to AirBnB, but he felt “ignored”.

Seldon actually proceeded to question the host, CNN Money reports, When Selden questioned the host, he received this response: “It’s a disappointment people like you always victimize yourselves solely on
the basis of skin color.”

A hashtag of #AirBnBWhileBlack was stated and it sparked a dialogue between amongst the users of Twitter.

Ever since then, AirBnB has released a statement about the current allegations, “While we do not comment on pending litigation, we strongly believe that racial discrimination is unacceptable and it
flies in the face of our mission to bring people together,” said, Airbnb spokesman Nick Papas.
