2 Chainz Stops By Wendy Williams, Talks New Album & Bankroll Fresh’s Death

2 Chainz is currently taking over as he promotes his latest album “Collegrove,” and one of the places he stopped by was the Wendy Williams Show. While promoting the album, he talked about his other successes outside of rap and the recent death of Bankroll Fresh.

When it comes to the albums title, 2 Chainz explained that Collegrove is a word he created. It consists of College Park, which is where he’s from and Hollygrove, which is where Lil Wayne is from.

He said, “This album is my album, but it’s like my dedication to him.” He continued, “He’s like my brother, my friend, actually my favorite rapper. So I just felt like it was time to put out a project or someone to acknowledge the fact he had a lot to do with moving the culture to where it is now.”

During the interview he also touched on the success of his “Dabbin Santa Sweater,” which grossed over $2 million. He talked about the funds being used through his T.R.U Foundation, which helps families that are in need. In fact he mentioned that the foundation was started by his longtime girlfriend, Kesha who lost a family member to domestic violence.

However, before leaving the show he briefly talked about the recent death of Bankroll Fresh. He said, “He was an authentic trap rapper from Atlanta, who touched many lives and lit up every room he went to.” He continued, “It was super unfortunate, super unnecessary, super senseless. And it just made me want to step up and use my platform for more positivity.”
