21 Savage Released On Bond Pending Deportation Hearing

21Savage is a free man y’all! He’s been released on bond pending his ICE hearing.

One of his first statements addressed his fans. His lawyers told @tmz_tv “21 Savage asked us to send a special message to his fans and supporters — he says that while he wasn’t present at the Grammy Awards, he was there in spirit and is grateful for the support from around the world and is more than ever, ready to be with his loved ones and continue making music that brings people together.”

His attorneys said 21 was granted an expedited hearing. It’s unclear why ICE held 21 for so long because he should have been allowed to bond out the day he was arrested. He wasn’t a flight risk or a danger to his community, which is the standard for holding someone in jail pending a deportation hearing.

The statement from 21’s legal team ends with, “He will not forget this ordeal or any of the other fathers, sons, family members, and faceless people, he was locked up with or that remain unjustly incarcerated across the country. And he asks for your hearts and minds to be with them.”

He had been locked up since Super Bowl Sunday when he was arrested by ICE. Authorities claimed his visa expired and that he’s allegedly been living here illegally.

Attorney Alex Spiro says, “ICE has confirmed he was targeted for immigration enforcement and nothing more. He was never arrested by the police, and some other individual’s firearm and vehicle is not our concern here.”

That’s not all though, attorney Brian Steel confirms information from an earlier story about police finding a gun in his car during his arrest. He says, “That was not his car and the gun retrieved is not his. No one will be falsely accusing my client. 21 Savage has done absolutely nothing wrong.”

Spiro was hired for 21 after Jay-Z spoke out against the injustice 21 Savage is experiencing. “The arrest and detention of 21 Savage is an absolute travesty, his U Visa petition has been pending for 4 years. In addition to being a successful recording artist, 21 deserves to be reunited with his children immediately,” Hov said in a statement.

“We are not going to stop until he is released, bonded out or in front of a judge … What we have here is someone who overstayed their Visa with an application pending for 4 years – not a convicted criminal that needs to be detained and removed but, by all accounts a wonderful person, father, and entertainer who has a marijuana offense which was vacated and sealed,” Spiro said.
