Black Man Killed By Police In El Cajon, CA After Sister Calls Them For Help

Another Black man has been killed by police just one week after protests erupted in Charlotte after the police shooting that took Keith Lamont Scott’s life .

According to NBC 7 San Diego, El Cajon police were notified about a 30-year-old “erratic subject” before getting to the scene. It becomes apparent that the victim’s sister may have been the one who called police because she’s seen in a Facebook video bawling about the fact that police shot her brother.

“I called you to help me but you killed my brother,” she cried. “Why couldn’t you guys Tase him? Why, why, why, why?”

It was reported that about five shots could be heard before the victim hit the ground. One witness says there wasn’t much of an exchange between the victim and the police before the shooting occurred.

“I didn’t hear any command ‘Halt’, ‘Stop’ or ‘I’ll shoot,’” the witness said via NBC 7 San Diego. “I didn’t hear any command or yelling. I didn’t hear the man say anything. Next thing I see ‘Pow, pow, pow, pow, pow’ – five shots.”

It is unknown whether or not the man was armed because coincidentally officials are withholding that information.”I have the information,” El Cajon Police spokesman Rob Ransweiler said in regards to questions about the victim possibly having a weapon. “It’s an ongoing investigation, so I’m not releasing details of the investigation.”

Michael Ray Rodriguez, another witness to the shooting, says the victim had his hands up. “When I seen the suspect, he had his hands up. I seen two officers with their firearm on him, ” Rodriguez recounted.
“The man’s hands are up. He didn’t have no shirt.”

The shooting was also apparently caught entirely on  video via a witness’ phone, who happened to be at a nearby El Pancho drive thru, ironically police confiscated all phones and video evidence for “investigation purposes.”

An El Pancho Manager, however, did say that the video shows the man refusing to remove his hands from his side. We will keep you updated on this story.
