Just as we thought we were in the clear of all of the celebrity deaths of 2016, we get hit with another devastating blow… the death of Charlie Murphy.
According to TMZ, the actor/comedian had been battling leukemia but ultimately lost his fight this morning at an NYC hospital. His manager allegedly confirmed the news and says he has been getting chemotherapy even though it isn’t specified for how long.

This one really does hurt especially for the ones who grew up on the “Chappelle’s Show” as well as “The Boondocks,” another hit show he helped write. Well, we’re just glad he left us with great words to live by before he left:
One to Sleep On: Release the past to rest as deeply as possible.
