C-Murder Ordered To Pay Shooting Victim’s Parents $1.1 Million After Judge Rules In Favor Of Family

Rapper C-Murder, brother of Master P and Silkk The Shocker, has been serving a life sentence for the shooting death of 16-year-old Steve Thomas outside of a Louisiana club back in 2002.While the rapper, who’s real name is Corey Miller, has maintained his innocence throughout the years, it still didn’t stop a judge from slapping him with a $1.1 million civil payout to the victim’s family.

According to the New Orleans Advocate, the Thomas’ family had filed a civil lawsuit against Miller back in 2013. The judge found Miller liable for Thomas’ death and ordered that he pay $500,000 to each of Thomas’ parents as well as another $150,000 for victim suffering.

“For my clients, it’s been a 15-year odyssey,” the family’s attorney Trey Mustian said after the ruling. “They’ve been through a great deal, and it means a lot to us to bring some closure to this.”

Mustian also adds, “I think it’s more a vindication of their son than any potential monetary award. They wanted to see it through for their son.”

He also says he’s prepared to seize Miller’s assets if necessary in order to make sure Thomas’ receives every last dime.
