One thing about technology is when we think something’s deleted, it’s really still floating in cyberspace! This is a lesson Alexander Bradley, Aaron Hernandez’s ex-BFF learned in court recently.
Alexander testified in court that just months after he witnessed Aaron shoot and kill Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado, Aaron shot him in the face and left him alone to die. He believes Aaron was trying to shut him up.
Here’s where things get tricky: Alexander had some messages that he deleted, resurface!
The recovered message, addressed to his lawyer Robert Pickening read: “Now u sure once I withdraw this lawsuit I wont be held on perjury after I tell the truth about me not recalling anything about who shot me?”
Alexander argues that the text message isn’t what it seems.
“I was trying to figure out how I could testify without getting [Hernandez] criminally [charged],” he said. “I would essentially perjure myself if I file in a civil matter that Mr. Hernandez shot me and then I go to the grand jury and say, ‘don’t know who shot me.'”
Aaron’s lawyer, Jose Baez basically used the recovered message to sway the juries good judgements about Alexander and add to their already learned knowledge that Alexander not only used to sell drugs for 17 years, but that he is also serving time for a Connecticut nightclub shooting.
