E! News has confirmed that ‘Shield” star Michael Jace has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for the murder of his wife. Before the actual sentencing Jace apologized to his wife’s family saying, “There were no justifications for his actions.”
Jace was convicted of murder in the second degree for shooting his wife, April Jace, in front of his two young children in April of 2014.
According to KNBC, the actor only wanted to hurt his wife not actually kill her. After jurors deliberated over the course of two days they switched the verdict from first-degree murder to second-degree because no evidence was found that this was a premeditated murder.
