Hey, melanin toned #Roommates! Have you ever been to Sephora or Ulta and just couldn’t find something in your shade? Well, no need to look any further!
“Darker Skin Tones” by Dr. Barbra Sturm is set to launch in July, and will exclusively be targeting Black women who have various, but common obstacles with their skin. According to Essence, the line is designed to focus on inflammation, unevenness, pore size, and hyperpigmentation.
The main ingredient found in the cleanser, eye cream, facial scrub, and serums is an herb called purslane. According to Strum, that ingredient will help skin remain youthful and radiant.
Strum tells, WWD, “What I like the most is actually the youth enzyme, this telomerase activator. The telomerase activates an enzyme to keep those ends of the chromosomes long, which actually works against natural programmed cell death and that’s the key. So not only do we have anti-inflammation and the evening out of skin tones, but also a big thing for anti-aging.”
According to Love B. Scott, the line will include a 150-ml. foam cleanser; a 75-gram enzyme cleanser; a 50-ml. face cream; a 50-ml. face cream rich, and a 30-ml. hyaluronic serum. It is priced from $58 for a cleanser, to $335 for a hyaluronic serum.
Something that might bring you down about this skin care line is that it won’t be available at your favorite beauty outlets when it is released in July. It will only be exclusively available at Harrods in-store and online.
