Roommates, Chris Brown’s legal team is speaking out about this recent rape lawsuit and they claim he’s a victim of a $17 million “shakedown.”
Breezy’s lawyer Mark Geragos says it’s all just a shameless money grab and insists that the alleged attack had absolutely nothing to do with the singer. As we previously reported, a woman is claiming that she was raped by one of Brown’s friends at his house.
“If any of that were true, it would’ve been criminally investigated. Obviously it was and it was rejected,” he told TMZ. “The fact that they made a demand for $17 million and that I told them to go pound sand probably explains why they did the press conference.”
Women’s rights lawyer Gloria Allred, who is representing the unidentified woman, held a press conference yesterday. Geragos said, “Chris didn’t do anything and they know Chris didn’t do anything… Other than using his name so that she could have a press conference, I don’t understand why he’s dragged into anything.”
“In another era, we might have called this a shakedown,” he added.
