Police in Tampa are currently investigating a single-car accident involving a Chevy Silverado belonging to Buccaneers receiver DeSean Jackson.
According to the New York Post, the police write-up reveals the vehicle was abandoned on Christmas Eve and 6.3 grams of marijuana and two .38-caliber hollow-point bullets were found inside.
In the state of Florida, less than 20 grams of marijuana is considered a misdemeanor, while bullets are legal.
Authorities responded to a call about an accident that occurred on West Shore Boulevard in Tampa. They arrived to find the abandoned vehicle, which seemed to have left the road and struck a tree.
Denise White, a rep for Jackson said, “It was a friend of DeSean’s who borrowed his car while he was out of town. None of what was in the car was his, obviously. He’s dealing with the person that was using it without his knowledge privately. The incident is being handled.”
The identity of Jackson’s friend has not been released, but a police source said that Jackson did tell authorities the person’s name. However, he did reject to help police in getting his friend to return to the scene.
