FBI director James Comey asked Justice Department to refute Trump’s wiretapping claims

Yesterday Donald Trump embarrassed himself, and his administration when he accused former President Barack Obama of tapping his phones at Trump Tower before the election, without providing any evidence to back his claims. FBI Director James Comey has reportedly asked the Justice Department to PUBLICLY deny any truth to Donnie’s claims.

According to the New York Times, James is urging the Justice Department to refute Donnie’s claims because it makes the FBI look like they broke the law. So far the Justice Department hasn’t released a statement in regards to Donnie’s outlandish allegations… but are you surprised?

“A statement by the Justice Department or Mr. Comey refuting Mr. Trump’s allegations would be a remarkable rebuke of a sitting president, putting the nation’s top law enforcement officials in the position of questioning the truthfulness of the government’s top leader,” Time magazine explains. ” The situation underscores the high stakes of what the president and his aides have unleashed by accusing the former president of a conspiracy to undermine Mr. Trump’s young administration.”
