Hundreds Of Atlanta Schools & Businesses Closed Today Amid Water Main Break

The City of #Atlanta is experiencing a bit of chaos today after a 48-inch water main break caused a widespread water shortage and major flooding in Dekalb County.

A multitude of schools, hospitals and government agencies were affected and everyone was sent home early. Things got so bad that #WaffleHouse released their “NO WATER MENU” which I have never even heard of!

DeKalb CEO Michael Thurmond issued a statement saying that a “full-scale investigation” would be launched in order to find the cause of the water main break.

“We will determine whether the break was the result of a systematic failure, improper maintenance, wear and tear or physical tampering,” Thurmond said. “I am committed to making sure our infrastructure is protected and maintained in a manner that will ensure quality service to the citizens of DeKalb County.”

Leave it to social media to make light of this situation, though! A lot of our ATLien Roommates could not deal with the thought of there not being any water! Check out some of the funniest reactions from today.
