An Infant Is Ejected From A Car During A Crash And Is Found Alive In A Storm Drain With Only A Scratch

An 8-month old baby girl is alive with minor injuries after being ejected from her car seat during a crash that took place on Friday.

According to CNN, the accident occurred along the Interstate 30 in Texarkana, Arkansas after a truck apparently swiped the side of the vehicle causing it to flip over.

Survivors from the incident said they looked for the child, but could not find her. Once a rescue team arrived to the scene they were able to find the baby in a storm drain about 25 feet away.

Authorities believed she rolled down a hill into the drain; it took three firefighters to get her out.

Texarkana firefighter Josh Moore said, “The baby … was sitting up and looking up at us waiting for us to pull her out.”

The child was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries, which included only a scratch on her forehead. The others involved in the accident were treated as well and able to be released, except for the driver who is still recovering.

Moore said, “There had to be some kind of divine intervention for her to end up being OK.”

Police confirmed to news station KSLA that the child was not properly in her car seat, and that the seat was not installed into the car properly, but no citation was issued.

Thankfully the baby girl is doing okay.
