Golden Globe nominee, Issa Rae reached massive success with her hit HBO series Insecure. However, before the hit series she built a name for herself on YouTube with her series, “Awkward Black Girl.”
She is now teaming up with, ‘Empire,’ star Jussie Smollett, for a new project that will appear on YouTube.
According to Vibe, both Issa Rae and Smollett will serve as executive producers for a new web-series entitled, “Giants,” which stars the show creator and director James Bland.
Bland talked about the synopsis for the series in a press release. He said, “Giants explores social issues that are either ignored or stigmatized by the black community. And regardless of race, these characters’ experiences are relatable to almost anyone because they learn the hard way that when life kicks your a**, you either lie down or fight back.”
“Giants,” premieres on YouTube January 25th at 8pm.
