Issa Rae has landed yet another leading role. This time around she has been cast in the upcoming romantic comedy “American Princess.”

According to Variety, Rae will play a woman “who moves to London and finds herself drawn into a world of wealth and high society, and falls in love in a very unexpected way.”

Paul Feig will be producing the project alongside Jessie Henderson and Brendan O’Brien through Feigco Entertainment. Amy Aniobi, who has worked with Rae on her hit HBO show “Insecure,” has written the script for the project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stella Meghie is on board to direct the project.

Aside from being the star on her hit show, Rae is currently starring in the new film. “The Hate U Give,” along with Amandla Stenberg. She plays activist April Ofrah, who helps Stenberg’s character, Starr, find her voice following the shooting of her childhood friend.

Rae will also star alongside “Blackish” star Marsai Martin in the upcoming comedy “Little.”

Back in September Rae’s HBO show “Insecure” was renewed for a fourth season. Earlier this year the show earned her an Emmy nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.

Congrats to Issa Rae on her new role.
