Imagine losing 27 whole years of your life that you’ll never get back (17 behind bars, and the rest on supervised parole,) because of being wrongfully framed, accused, and convicted.
John Bunn, who was wrongfully convicted of the murder of a corrections officer when he was just 14-years-old is finally a free man today.
His case was tried by a jury, testimony was given, and he was then convicted all in one day, and he has maintained his innocence for all of these years.
“Y’all had the wrong man this whole time and you have [someone] out there running free and y’all had no right to do what you did,” he said emotionally.
All this because of tainted evidence at the hands of a crooked ex-Detective, Louis Scarcella. Since 2013, the Brooklyn DA has reportedly opened every murder case (more than 50) that was investigated by Scarcella and resulted in a guilty verdict.
