Is this a law we never knew we needed until it fell in our laps?
Welp, it’s not official yet, but a New York City bill that proposes fining employers for requiring their employees to respond to their texts/emails etc outside of their work hours is currently in talks.
Basically, your employer can still contact you—but if they press the issue on you not responding and leaving them on read, they could get hit with a fine—because if you ain’t working—you ain’t working. Perioddtttt.
This bill does not include government employees—sorry boo! It would only apply to companies that have more than 10 employees. What do y’all think #Roommates? Is this a bill you could get down with or nah?
