Okay, this is the part where I’m going to need all my friends to either get in formation or cash me ousside—literally.
Jan Flato went out on a night of gambling with his friend Marina Navarro at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino back in January.
Neither of them could’ve expected what was to come as they gambled the night away.
According to KABC, Jan and Marina were playing video poker. Jan then apparently asked Marina to hit the button on his $50 bet “for luck.” Needless to say, it was at that moment that he’d messed up.
It just so happened that the button Marina pushed, was the button that would win Jan $100,000—at least so he thought. When they went upstairs to collect their winnings, it came to Jan’s surprise that he actually wasn’t entitled to any of those winnings at all because it was Marina who ‘pushedthe button.’ It was at that moment that Marina ran off on the plug—while the plug was tryna have her run him his money.
A statement from HardRock reads, “The person who pushes a slot machine button or pulls the arm is the person who wins the jackpot.”
Now, with $100,000 in her possession, Marina definitely didn’t have a problem with this rule.
According to Marina, Jan lost it and started yelling and screaming when he found out he couldn’t cash in on the win.
She goes on to add that Jan started sending her ‘threatening’ text messages implying that he is not someone she wants as an enemy.
Marina also stated that she offered Jan some of the money, but retracted her offer after he started to threaten her. Jan has yet to see a dime of that money, and it is looking like that ship has sailed for him.
The real question is, what would you in that situation? Would you split the money, or keep it all and act like it never happened?
In case you were wondering, the two are no longer friends.
