Michael Vick Announces His Retirement After Not Playing During The 2016 Season

It looks like we can now say that Michael Vick is officially retired from football.

According to ESPN, on Friday he talked with Josina Anderson, and confirmed that he is officially retired from the NFL.

He said, “In this moment right now, I’m willing to say yeah, I’m officially retired. I think it’s time. I think going through the 2016 season without playing and being able to be a spectator and watch the game and enjoy it from afar and root for a lot of the players and coaches I once played for, I think kind of summed it all up for me.

He continued, “So now I think I’m officially ready, I’m ready to move on to different things in my life and different facets of my life.”

Vick who was the number one overall pick during the 2001 NFL Draft. He started his career with the Atlanta Falcons for six seasons before heading over to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009.
