Sunday it was reported that several people were killed and several others were injured during a shooting at a church in Sutherland Springs, TX.
According to NBC News, Wilson County Commissioner Albert Gamez Jr. said a single shooter walked into the First Baptist Church and opened fire.
The final amount of those who have been killed and injured have not been confirmed. It was last recorded that up 24 people may have died and at least 15 people have been injured.
Gamez added that the shooter is now dead. It has not been confirmed if the shooter took his own life, or if authorities took him down.
Carrie Matula, who works at a gas station near the church said she heard “semiautomatic gunfire” and looked to see what was going on.
She continued, “I never thought it would happen here. This is something that happens in a big city. I would never have thought this would have taken place here. It’s just too tight a community. It doesn’t make sense.”
