To many, this honor is long overdue, but Nina Simone will finally be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
According to Rolling Stone, on Wednesday the Hall of Fame announced the inductee’s for the 2018 class.
Nina Simone will be among the five inductee’s including, Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, the Moody Blues, and the Cars.
In order to be eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, 25 years has to have gone by since the release of the artist’s first album or single. Nina Simone’s first studio album was released in 1958, making her induction long overdue.
The induction ceremony will take place on April 14th, 2018 at Cleveland’s Public Hall. The Hall of Fame will likely have artists that were inspired by Nina Simone to perform during the ceremony.
