Paisley Park Alumni Launch A Charitable Foundation In Prince’s Honor

Earlier this week fans around the world celebrated Prince as June 7th marked what would have been his 59th birthday.

As a way to keep Prince’s legacy alive, the nonprofit PRN (Prince Rogers Nelson) Alumni Foundation was launched. The board of directors for the foundation consists of former Paisley Park employees.

According to Billboard, the board’s mission is to continue supporting the many different causes and charities that Prince did throughout the years.

In a statement announcing the foundation, former Paisley Park Enterprise president, Craig Rice said, “Prince’s philanthropic activities are an important component of his legacy. Therefore, our goal is to continue supporting the charitable initiatives that were important to him. His financial generosity, most often anonymous, helped provide opportunities for underprivileged youth to pursue their dreams in music, the arts, and education.”

The foundation is currently working on events that will be announced in the near future, and they have also launched a line of merchandise as well.

Susan Rogers, another board member, and former engineer/ studio recordings said, “Prince’s [work] team shared a common core: dedicated, loyal professionalism with an instinct to look out for one another. Through the PRN Alumni Foundation, those who knew his generosity of spirit toward communities and children can carry on the kind of work that helped define Prince.”

It’s great to see to see Prince’s legacy is being preserved in other ways along with his music.
