The winter weather is starting to break, which means that festival season is quickly approaching.
One of the most talked about festivals that goes down each year is none other than the Roots Picnic.
Each year, the hip-hop group gathers a list of big names to hit the stage in Philadelphia, and this year is no different.
According to Billboard, Pharrell Williams will be headlining alongside The Roots, Lil Wayne and Solange have also been tapped to headline the show. However, this years show will be special, as they mark their 10-year anniversary.
Shawn Gee, the Roots longtime manager said, “Ten years ago this started as a concept, an idea, a conversation between me, Tarik (Black Thought), Ahmir (Questlove) and Rich (Nichols). It’s amazing that it has grown into such a valued piece of the cultural landscape of our hometown of Philadelphia.”
Other names expected to hit the stage include, 21 Savage, PNB Rock, A Boogie and a host of others.
The Roots Picnic is scheduled to go down on June 3rd at Festival Piers at Penn’s Landing
