Protesters Snatch Down A Confederate Monument In North Carolina

Protesters gathered outside of Old Durham County courthouse in Durham, NC tonight and took it upon themselves to take down a confederate statue. This incident comes after an eventful weekend in #Charlottesville, VA where there was a protest against the removal of a Confederate General Robert E. Lee monument.

The Durham monument is of a uniformed soldier with “In memory of the boys who wore the gray,” inscribed at its base. Witnesses say that a woman climbed onto the statue and tied a rope around it, then the crowd helped to actually pull it down. They cheered “No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA!” as the statue came toppling down.

Currently, demonstrators are taking pics next to the fallen statue and have even been kicking and spitting on it.

What are your thoughts, Roommates?
