TJX Continues To Pay Employees In Puerto Rico Despite Store Closures Due To Hurricane Damage

Department Store Company TJX has recently been receiving praise after it has been confirmed that they are still paying their employees in Puerto Rico, although stores are closed due to Hurricane Maria.

Some popular department stores that fall under TJX include, T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods.

According to CBS Boston, the TJX owner confirmed that they are still paying employees, even though stores remain closed due to hurricane damage.

A TJX spokeswoman said, “We believe it is the right thing for us to do under these circumstances.”

The Boston Globe reports that there are 29 TJX owned stores on the island, but the company has not confirmed how many are closed as most of the island is still without power.
