#JRSmith has turned himself into #NewYork police after being investigated for allegedly stealing a cell phone from a fan and then throwing it into a construction site.
The incident happened back in late July as a club let out in #Chelsea, according to @TMZ_tv. The fan tried to snap a pic with J.R. outside the club and J.R. turned down the guy but the man apparently took a picture of J.R. anyway.
J.R. reportedly lost his cool and snatched the phone out the fan’s hand before tossing it into a nearby construction zone allegedly causing damage to the phone. J.R. has been charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief and was issued a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
J.R.’s attorney called the whole thing “nonsense.”
