#TSRUpdatez: More Details On The Conditions Of Bill Cosby’s Sentencing–Will Likely Be Moved To General Population At Some Point

Following #BillCosby’s Tuesday sentencing to three to 10 years in state prison after being found guilty of sexual assault, officials are disclosing the arrangements of his stay at maximum security prison SCI Phoenix in #Collegeville, Pennsylvania.

Amy Worden, who is the press secretary for the state’s Department of Corrections, says Bill will be staying in a single-occupant cell, which will be 7 feet by 13 feet and the ceiling will be 10 feet tall, according to @Foxnews. Bill will have access to a game room and exercise room, and will be able to purchase his own television, radio and tablet so that he will be able to receive email, Worden said.

“These are possessions that inmates are allowed to have” Worden said. He is currently in a cell near the infirmary, however, Worden said that he will “likely be moved to general population at some point.” @CNN reported that Bill is required to receive lifetime mandatory sex offender counseling with a treatment provider.

“Although SCI Phoenix is a maximum security prison, the amount of time that inmates are allowed out of their cell is contingent on the area of the prison facility where they are being housed, according to Worden. “…He is a bit of an unusual circumstance because he is a high-profile inmate and he’s being kept in a certain part of the facility.”

As Cosby is legally blind and uses a cane, Worden also noted that the facility “already houses a number of inmates with blindness or deteriorating eyesight.”

“They certainly make accommodations for inmates with numerous disabilities,” she added.
