Back in 2003, dancehall artist #WayneWonder released his very vibrant summer anthem #NoLettingGo. Despite the song only peaking at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, it is one of those time-marker songs that helps you to recall the exact thing you were doing, thinking and saying back then.
Today, Wayne is still traveling the world as a performer! He just finished up the DMV Summer Festival over the weekend! While he’s not performing, he is being a loving father to his daughter and a son.
Now, if you remembered “No Letting Go,” then surely you remember #Lumidee’s hit song “Never Leave You (Uh Ooh, Uh Oooh). These two songs use the same “handclap riddim” drum beat. The video for “Never Leave You” perfectly captured every day life in Harlem, NY where Lumidee is from.
