Kendrick Lamar Gets Slapped With Lawsuit After Being Accused Of Stealing Music!!

According to TheJasmineBrand.com, Kendrick Lamar may be in some legal hot water over allegations that he stole music!

It has been reported that the Compton rapper and his label Top Dawg Music have been hit with a federal lawsuit by music companies, Golden Withers Music and Musidex Music for using a 70’s musician’s music without permission.

Withers, who is popular for the hit songs  “Ain’t No Sunshine” and “Lean on Me”,  argues that Kendrick’s 2013 song entitled, “I Do This” is a complete bite off of the song  “Don’t You Want to Stay” which was written by Bill Withers, Melvin Dunlap and Raymond Jackson and  released by Withers in 1975.

TJB reports that the music company first contacted Kendrick’s team back in 2013 with a copyright infringement letter but heard no response. They tried again early this year but argues that Kendrick Lamar is still making money off the song.

“The companies accuse Kendrick of willful and complete disregard for their rights and want him to pay the maximum amount in damages for the illegal use of their music,” TJB states. Golden Withers Music and Musidex Music filed suit demanding an injunction against Kendrick from continuing to profit illegally off their work along with all profits he made from the track.”
