2 Chainz To Reopen His Georgia Restaurants For Dine-In Service Despite The Community’s Fear Of COVID-19

Amid the backlash from Governor Brian Kemp to reopen the state of Georgia, 2 Chainz has decided to open his Escobar Restaurant and Tapas.

According to TMZ, the rapper and his business partner, Snoop Dillard, have decided to open both locations but with safety precautions, of course.

“Both of 2 Chainz’s joints, Escobar Restaurant and Tapas, are serving dine-in meals starting Monday — his business partner and co-owner, Snoop Dillard, tells TMZ — and they’re making public safety a top priority.”

Also staff will reportedly have their temperatures checked, when they clock in, mandatory gloves for all employees, and masks for the cooks and single-use paper menus. In addition to any staff member showing signs of COVID-19 will be sent home.

Customers will also be able to enjoy the use of hookahs, as they’ll be available and will be cleaned and sanitized frequently. People were already bringing their own hose, before the viral pandemic, also according to TMZ.

It’s also reported that with the restaurant now allowing dine-in, the company will be allowed to bring people back to work.

As previously reported, 2 Chainz and Snoop have also donated meals to medical workers, during this time.

Mayor Keisha Bottoms has expressed her concern with reopening the state. In an interview she stated,

I saw the announcement watching Channel 2 like the rest of Georgia. I didn’t know it was coming and obviously the governor is the governor and he certainly has the prerogative to make orders that he deems appropriate. He did not consult with me. I don’t know what the reasoning and data that the governor used to make this decision was, because I have not spoken with him, but I did not know in advance.”

She continued,

“The governor and I have traditionally had a very good working relationship so with all due respect I can say I don’t agree with this order. But again, I don’t know what the governor is basing this on. To the extent that we’ve had any success with numbers, I would venture to say it’s because we’ve been very aggressive in the actions that we’ve taken. What I know is that we still are not testing asymptomatic and people with mild symptoms, so I don’t think we have a very clear picture of what our real numbers are.”

In a recent press conference, President Trump stated he disagreed with Governor Kemp.

“I told the governor of Georgia Brian Kemp that I disagree strongly with his decision to open certain facilities which are in violation of the phase one guidelines for the incredible people of Georgia.”

T.I. and Killer Mike, rappers and prominent figures of the Atlanta community have expressed their concerns about reopening the state as well.
