Furthermore, WSBTVnoted that the identity of the third victim who is now hospitalized after the explosion has not been revealed. As The Shade Room previously reported, the third victim was initially noted as a second Delta employee.
AP News adds that the third victim remains “under medical care” as of Wednesday, August 28.
As The Shade Room previously reported, the tire explosion occurred during the early hours of Tuesday, August 27. AP News reports that “wheel parts” were “being disassembled” when they exploded. Furthermore, the outlet has clarified that the wheel was “not attached to a plane at the time.”
Amid the blast, Marweg and Aldaronado were killed, while the third victim reportedly sustained “major” injuries.
In response, Delta confirmed the “loss of two team members and the injury of another.” Furthermore, the airline asserted that it is working with “local authorities and conducting a full investigation to determine what happened.”
