“My Father Was A Good Man:” Alton Sterling’s 15-Year-Old Son Calls For Peaceful Protests And Unity

It has been a long week since the shooting of Alton Sterling made headlines causing  racial tension between the Black community and the justice system to boil over.

Of course it is important to remember the life that was lost but we can not forget about the family that 37-year-old Alton left behind also. Who can forget the image of his 15-year-old son Cameron breaking down in front of news cameras as his mother spoke about the death of his father. Well Cameron spoke today in front of the same Triple S Mart where his father was wrongfully killed, calling for peaceful protest and unity.

“I feel that people in general, no matter what race, should come together as one united family.  My father was a good man, that was a sacrifice to show everyone what was going on in life. It should give everyone a push that everyone should be together not against each other,” Cameron said in the brief press conference. “You can protest, but I want everyone to protest the right way. Protest with peace, not guns, not drugs, not alcohol, not violence.”
