According to NBC 7 San Diego, El Cajon police were notified about a 30-year-old “erratic subject” before getting to the scene. It becomes apparent that the victim’s sister may have been the one who called police because she’s seen in a Facebook video bawling about the fact that police shot her brother.
I called you to help me but you killed my brother,” she cried. Why couldnt you guys Tase him? Why, why, why, why?

It was reported that about five shots could be heard before the victim hit the ground. One witness says there wasn’t much of an exchange between the victim and the police before the shooting occurred.
“I didnt hear any command Halt, Stop or Ill shoot,” the witness said via NBC 7 San Diego. “I didnt hear any command or yelling. I didnt hear the man say anything. Next thing I see Pow, pow, pow, pow, pow five shots.
It is unknown whether or not the man was armed because coincidentally officials are withholding that information.”I have the information,” El Cajon Police spokesman Rob Ransweiler said in regards to questions aboutthe victim possibly having aweapon. “Its an ongoing investigation, so Im not releasing details of the investigation.
Michael Ray Rodriguez, another witness to the shooting, says the victim had his hands up.When I seen the suspect, he had his hands up.I seen two officers with their firearm on him, ” Rodriguez recounted.
“The mans hands are up.He didnt have no shirt.”
The shooting was also apparently caught entirely on video via a witness’ phone, who happened to be at a nearby El Panchodrive thru, ironically police confiscated all phones and video evidence for “investigation purposes.”
An El Pancho Manager, however, did say that the video shows the man refusing to remove his hands from his side. We will keep you updated on this story.
