Dylann Roof Makes No Efforts To Save His Life In Death Penalty Case

After mass murderer Dylann Roof requested to represent himself for his murder trial, it seems as if he isn’t taking the role seriously.

According to the LA Times, Roof has no plans of calling any witnesses or presenting any evidence to defend his case and possibly save his life.

The judge in the case granted Roof’s motion to remove his lawyers from the case but has urged the 23-year-old to consult with his grandfather, who is also an attorney, in order to help his case since he is facing the death penalty.

Apparently, Roof denied legal counsel because he is afraid “embarrassing” evidence will be revealed during the trial.

He is currently on trial for the deaths of nine Charleston parishioners and has 33 felony charges looming over his head. He has until Tuesday before opening statements begin to seek legal aide.
