President Obama To Give Farewell Speech In Chicago!

Reality just set in–it’s finally 2017 and that means the Obamas are bidding a farewell to the place they’ve called home for the last eight years.

We are just days away from President Obama giving his farewell address and guess where the White House announced it will be?! Chi-town!

The speech is set to take place at McCormick Place on Jan. 10th and tickets are free and being released on a first-come-first-serve basis Jan. 7th.

He said his remarks are still in their early stages but he plans to acknowledge and reflect on how The United States experienced a change “for the better” during his time as the country’s leader.

What we’re banking on is his two cents on how the progression can be continued even years after he is gone.

POTUS released a statement in a blog post entitled “My Farewell Address” via The White House’s official website:

“On Tuesday, January 10, I’ll go home to Chicago to say my grateful farewell to you, even if you can’t be there in person.

I’m just beginning to write my remarks. But I’m thinking about them as a chance to say thank you for this amazing journey, to celebrate the ways you’ve changed this country for the better these past eight years, and to offer some thoughts on where we all go from here.

Since 2009, we’ve faced our fair share of challenges, and come through them stronger. That’s because we have never let go of a belief that has guided us ever since our founding—our conviction that, together, we can change this country for the better.”

Well it’s been real, Barry! Please come back if you can!
