26-Year-Old Man Arrested In Connection To Recent Sacramento Mass Shooting, Faces Charges On Suspicion Of Assault

Roommates, there has been an arrest in connection with Sacramento’s recent mass shooting. According to KCRA News, 26-year-old Dandre Martin is behind bars and listed as a “related suspect” in connection with Sacramento’s mass shooting. During an interview, this morning, the police chief, Kathy Lester, confirmed he was taken into custody this morning at 12:39 am and booked on charges of assault with a firearm and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

KCRA 3’s Ty Steele she stated the following about the incident, “Right now, that’s really all we’re able to share about him. As you know, this is a complex investigation, and we’re looking for multiple suspects, so we’re currently working to identify what his role was the night of the shooting.” The Sacramento Police Department SWAT members and detectives provided more information about the case in a press release. The statement detailed how they served search warrants at three residences in the area, where at least one handgun was recovered.

In addition, Sacramento County District Attorney Ann Marie Schubert noted Dandre had not been arrested for homicide. “The investigation is highly complex, involving many witnesses, videos of numerous types, and significant physical evidence,” she said. “This is an ongoing investigation, and we anticipate more arrests in this case. Our ethical obligations as prosecutors prevent us from commenting about the specifics of the case. We will be reviewing the evidence provided to our office and making a determination of what, if any, charges are appropriate. If charges are filed, the complaint will be released to the public.”

As we reported, the shooting resulted in six adults deceased. The victims are Johntaya Alexander, 21, Melinda Davis, 57, Sergio Harris, 38, Joshua Hoye-Lucchesi, 32, Yamile Martinez-Andrade, 21 and

Devazia Turner, 29. Twelve other individuals were injured. Currently, Dandre is being held without bond. Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragedy.
