Last year, football player Colin Kaepernick made national headlines after he chose to kneel during the National Anthem in protest of the rising racial tensions in the Black Community.
Well it looks like the 49ers quarterback won’t be making a statement this season as it has been reported that he will stand while the Anthem is recited. Apparently, Kaepernick feels as though there has been many “positive changes” that have taken place within the Black community and thats why he is choosing to end his protest.

Kaepernick no longer wants his method of protest to detract from the positive change he believes has been created, sources told ESPN. He also said the amount of national discussion on social inequality — as well as support from other athletes nationwide, including NFL and NBA players — affirmed the message he was trying to deliver.

This news comes as Colin’s is preparing to make his exit from the San Fransisco 49ers and become a free agent next week.
