#TSRTech: Apple To Release iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition Devices To Help In The Fight Against AIDS

Today, Apple announced that it would be dropping a new special edition iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and yes we know what you’re thinking, but trust us this may be worth the money since the launch is for a great cause!

The tech company marked it’s decade long collaboration with (RED) by introducing the special edition iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (PRODUCT)RED which Apple says will be both designed with “a vibrant red aluminum finish.”

In a statement released on Apple’s website, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook said the new iPhones will hopefully bring us closer to an AIDS-free world.

“Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition all the way to today’s lineup of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a gorgeous red finish is our biggest (PRODUCT)RED offering to date in celebration of our partnership with (RED), and we can’t wait to get it into customers’ hands.”

The launch will serve to help AIDS victims in sub-Saharan Africa, which accounts for more than two-thirds of the world’s AIDS population,  gain access to testing, counseling, and treatment as well as prevention programs specifically targeting mother to child transmission.

“Apple is the world’s largest corporate donor to the Global Fund, contributing more than $130 million as part of its partnership with (RED),” said Deborah Dugan, (RED)’s CEO. “Combining the global reach of the world’s most loved smartphone with our efforts to provide access to life-saving ARV medication in sub-Saharan Africa, customers now have a remarkable opportunity to make a difference and contribute to the Global Fund through the purchase of this new beautiful (PRODUCT)RED iPhone.”

To date, (RED) has raised over $465 million for AIDS support, with more than  $130 million being generated from Apple. The iPhones are slated to be released Mar. 24 for $749.
