Dwyane Wade showed some major love to one of his fans who lost their lives during the Parkland, Florida shooting on February 14. Wade dedicated his season to Parkland victim Joaquin Oliver and wrote his name on his sneakers.

According to Complex, Oliver was a huge D Wade fan and couldnt wait to get his new Miami Vice jersey. Dad, guess who’s coming back? Guess who’s coming home?” Oliver’s dad recalled his son saying. “Wade is coming back. I need that jersey!”

Unfortunately, his life was cut short and his family buried him in Wades number 3 jersey. The story touched Wade so much that he wanted to do something to show his respect for one of his biggest fans.

Even though the game has brought certain people to admire me, this definitely makes it bigger than that,” Wade told the Miami Herald. “I don’t even know how to put it into words or thought at all. In a tough moment for a family, there’s so many decisions that you have to make. And for me to be a part of thatthat he would have wanted to be buried in my jerseythat’s mind-boggling to me.”

He also invited Joaquins family to the game against the Detroit Pistons. He brought his sister out on the court before the national anthem to stand with him. Whats even more touching about this story is that Wade gave his family a signed turquoise jersey, and custom shoes with his Joaquins name on it.
