50 Cent Gives Fans A Sneak Peek Of The ‘Power’ Spinoff Starring Mary J. Blige

With the sixth season of the Starz hit series “Power” currently keeping fans on the edge of their seats, week-after-week, anticipation for the reported spinoffs has also increased—specifically the first one set to star the legendary Mary J. Blige. 50 Cent recently teased a first look at the upcoming spinoff with a post on social media.

We previously reported in the summer, that a host of spinoffs for the crime drama “Power” were in the works, however the one that got the most attention from fans was one that places Mary J. Blige in the starring role. Currently titled “Power Book II: Ghost,” the forthcoming series was initially announced during a cast appearance at this year’s TCA panel where MJB showed up as a special guest.

“Power” creator Courtney Kemp previously said that the show will “continue the journey of some of “Power’s” most controversial characters,” while also noting that those characters won’t necessarily focus on the main character of Ghost, despite the show’s title.

Speaking about her involvement in the series, Mary had this to say:

“I’ve known so many Tashas, I’ve known so many Ghosts. I’ve dated so many Ghosts. I’m a huge fan for life, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.”

In addition to Mary’s spinoff, there was also word that the scene-stealing character Councilman Rashad Tate, played by the great Larenz Tate, would also be getting a spinoff focusing on the shady dealings of his character.

Roommates, are you looking forward to a new look into the world of “Power?”
