Patrick Lavon Mahomes II was born on September 17, 1985, in Tyler, Texas. His father, Randi Mahomes, was a former Major League Baseball pitcher.
In high school, Mahomes played basketball, baseball, and football. As a quarterback at White House High School, he achieved an impressive record in his senior year. With 4,619 passing yards, 948 rushing yards, 50 passing touchdowns, and 15 rushing touchdowns, young Mahomes had a very bright future ahead of him. Mahomes went on to join Texas Tech University after high school.

Career
For Mahomes, everything started with Oklahoma State University. There, he played against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Davis Matthew Webb, the quarterback who was supposed to play, got injured, so Mahomes stepped in as a replacement.

In 2017, ESPN named him the third-best quarterback and second-best by Sports Illustrated while NFL Draft Scout named him the fourth-best. This made Mahomes one of the most popular players, especially during the draft process.
After 18 private visits and workouts with the best teams in the country, Mahomes finally anchored himself in Kansas City Chiefs. Aside from helping the Chiefs win, Mahomes signed a huge, $16.42 million contract.
In 2018, Mahomes became the starting quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, where he brought the Chiefs to their first AFC Championship since 1993. Unfortunately, the team lost, but Mahomes athleticism earned him many awards for this season. He was awarded the Best NFL Player ESPY Award and named First Team All-Pro and AFC Offensive Player of the Year by the Kansas City Club 101.
The 2019 season brought major success for Mahomes. The talented quarterback took his team to the team to Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers. Mahomes led the team to victory and was named Super Bowl MVP. This was the Chiefs first Super Bowl victory since 1970.
