What started as a fresh start quickly turned into a nightmareand Aaron Webbs name is now at the center of a disturbing situation unfolding in Texas. Authorities say a woman who thought she had put distance between herself and her past instead found it following her straight to her front door. And, it set off a chain of events that left one man injured and multiple lives shaken.
The Arlington Police Department says 25-year-old Webb tracked down his ex-girlfriend after she moved out of state to escape him. Investigators say Webb had been repeatedly calling and texting her before allegedly showing up uninvited at an apartment in the 700 block of Forest Hills Drive around 11 p.m. Tuesday night. Inside the home were five peopletwo women, a man, and two childrenwhen police say Webb forced his way in.
Authorities allege Webb shot the womans new boyfriend, a 29-year-old man, before kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and forcing her into a vehicle against her will. A short time later, officers received a second call reporting a gunshot victim outside an apartment just minutes away. Officers found the wounded man responsive and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors expect him to survive. Meanwhile, the remaining occupantsincluding the childrenescaped through a back window and ran for safety.
With help from witnesses and law enforcement cameras, officers tracked the suspects vehicle to Fort Worth. Webb was arrested, and the woman was rescued. Police say she suffered injuries to her face after allegedly being struck by the 25-year-old, but was otherwise physically unharmed. Webb is now booked in the Arlington jail and faces multiple felony charges. His charges include aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, and burglary with intent to assault. Additional charges include deadly conduct and stalking.
