Students at Alabama State University are pissed because another janky promoter has scammed students out of their excitement and money!
According to a roommate, students at ASU were hyped to see Lil Wayne perform for Homecoming at their Hornet Fest this evening but were met with a nightmarish surprise…ain’t no Lil Wayne bih! Thats right, the whole concert was cancelled because the performer lied about having Lil Wayne as a guest performer!
The campus sold tickets to the show without realizing that the promoter was a fraud scamming students out $30-$50!!! Shame on them… its already hard out here to be a college kid! Anyways the students were met with the rude awakening after Lil Wayne’s management team issued a statement on fraud show:
Yikes, the school has also released a statement saying:
“Many of you may have heard about the statement from representatives for Lil Wayne that he will not appear at the concert tomorrow night. This is true. The concert was arranged by an independent promoter–not the University. The University was victimized by individuals who presented themselves as promoters. We have been in contact with a representative from Young Money, who states that “Wayne was never booked for this show. To protect the interests of the University and our students, the University will vigorously investigate and pursue litigation as appropriate. There are no performers, therefore there is no concert for Wednesday, November 18, 2015. The University and the Student Government Association acted in good faith. The ASU family is extremely disappointed that our students will not be able to enjoy a concert as anticipated for Homecoming 2015.”
How embarrassing! Well on a brighter note, students will be able to get refunds at eventbrite. But seriously ASU you gotta do better!
