Amanda Seales Calls Out Producers Of ‘The Real’ For Allegedly Biting Her ‘Smart Funny & Black’ Idea

Chile, Amanda Seales ain’t here for The Real. Step into The Shade Room, and let me tell you why.

The Real’s latest season premiered today and the ladies had a segment titled, “Black Lives University,” which attempted to address racial injustice. Welp, the former actress and co-host of the daytime talk show had a problem with it.

According to Amanda, she stated the segment was an attempt to “bite” her “Smart Funny & Black” brand.

In an Instagram message, Amanda wrote, “Once again therealdaytime demonstrates its low class and even lower vibration. Just so we’re clear, this is an EGREGIOUS bite of my ‘Smart Funny & Black’ brand in an attempt to bring black awareness into the programming of The Real,” she expressed.

Seales also stated they couldn’t find any other way to bring Black awareness to The Real, and this was the only way they could. “They couldn’t find ANY OTHER WAY to do this without it being a bite of my creation,” she added.

She also made it clear why she pointed this out on social media. “ Yes, I’m saying this on social media because the CONTINUED thievery of black people’s work (even when supported by other BIPOC) needs to be called the F out and also because this is the most energy I’ll give it before going on with my day and creating more dopeness that will inevitably be pilfered by the less talented/ethical/ancestrally connected individuals of our species. Happy Monday. VOTE!”

If you recall, Amanda hosted one season with The Real, and announced her departure in June.

“I am not in a space where I can as a full black woman, have my voice, and my co-workers also have their voices and where the people at the top are not respecting the necessity for black voices to be at the top too.”
