Whewlooks like the stars have fallen fast for Astronomer CEO, Andy Byron. A now-viral video captured what appeared to be a messy cheating scandal during a Coldplay concert, and the internet wasted no time connecting the dots. Now, the drama isn’t just onlineits hit the executive suite hard, allegedly with the CEO stepping down. Now, all eyes are on who’s leaving… and why.
On the heels of the viral video, Andy Byron officially tendered his resignation as CEO of Astronomer, according to a public statement released by the company on X. The Astronomer Board of Directors accepted his departure and announced they will begin the search for a new chief executive. In the meantime, cofounder and Chief Product Officer, Pete DeJoy, will step in as interim CEO.
The same shakeup seems to also apply to Kristin Cabot, the companys Chief People Officer, who has also reportedly stepped downthough her exit hasnt been formally addressed in the company’s public statement. Furthermore, it was last reported that Kristin was placed on leave pending the investigation.

The drama kicked off when a concertgoer captured footage at a Coldplay show showing what looked like a lovey-dovey moment between Andy and Kristin, both top execs at Astronomer. However, when the duo appeared on the stadium’s jumbotron, they both appeared to panic. Chris Martin seemed to hint at the tension, joking whether they were just “shy” or maybe “having an affair.” Yesterday, the company announced that Byron was placed on leave as it launched a full investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, the internet went full detective mode, uncovering details about their personal lives: Andys wife has reportedly deactivated her social media accounts after removing Byron from her name, while Kristin was allegedly married to another CEO, though their divorce was allegedly finalized in 2022.
