Antonio Brown Reportedly Working Out For The New Orleans Saints

#Roommates, Antonio Brown has had quite an eventful 2019. After finding himself without a team, the current free-agent spent the second half of the year battling his baby mama and working on an aspiring rap career. Now, after pleading to be let back into the league, it appears that he might get his wish, as he is reportedly working out for the New Orleans Saints.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced revealing that the New Orleans Saints set up a workout with troubled free-agent receiver Antonio Brown. Coach Sean Payton acknowledged the workout to media outlets, but made it clear that at this time there is no guarantee that Antonio will be signed by the team.

Payton had this to say regarding Antonio’s workout:

“We’re doing our homework. There would be a number of players that we’ve signed or drafted over the years past — some that have worked out, some that haven’t. The process is something that we take seriously and it’s important relative to the makeup of the team.”

He also said that the Saints would need to get clarity from the NFL on the status of Antonio being eligible to play in the postseason if he were signed by the Saints.

“That’s the information that we’ve got to get from the league if we were to go down that road,” Payton said. “And we don’t have that yet.”

For a refresher about the issues that have resulted in him not playing in the NFL, here it goes. Antonio is currently under investigation by the NFL under its personal conduct policy after his former trainer, Britney Taylor, filed a lawsuit alleging she was sexually assaulted by him on multiple occasions. Antonio is also accused of sexual misconduct at his home by an artist who was working at the residence in 2017.

He has denied all allegations and even met with the NFL for eight hours back in November while in Florida as part of the investigation. As of right now, the NFL has not concluded its investigation. Meanwhile, Antonio could still face additional league-imposed discipline.
