Apple’s Most Expensive New Mac Pro Costs Almost $53K!

TSR Tech: Whew! The days are here where our computers are beginning to cost more than our cars. Today, Apple dropped its new Mac Pro desktop computer and it’s just more proof that Apple can pretty much charge whatever they want these days for its products.

The new machine starts at about $6,000, and that starter package has specifications that some pros in the game might consider inadequate.

So, anyone looking for the more fully loaded version, well it will cost you more than $52,000, according to Bloomberg, and that’s not including the optional $400 wheels for easily moving the computer around an office.

If y’all want to know why it costs so much, well, we’ll help break it down.

The base product includes 256 gigabytes of storage, low for professional computers in the same price range. A 4 terabyte option will run you an extra $1,400. An 8 terabyte upgrade is coming later, according to Apple’s website, but pricing for that hasn’t been announced.

To increase the computer’s RAM memory from 32 gigabytes to 1.5 terabytes is $25,000 extra, the main reason the price can go past $52,000.

The new Mac Pro does not include a display. Apple put a new Pro Display XDR on sale Tuesday for about $5,000.

It’s safe to say those who weren’t fazed by that price tag are in the minority because social media was shooketh today by that price.

“I’m loving all these Mac Pro configurations that cost more than a luxury car or a significant portion of a mortgage. I mean, seriously?” one Twitter user said.

But people have been ragging on the pricing since summer when Apple announced that the stand to hold the new monitor would cost an extra $999.

The good news is, if you’re serious about buying the new Mac Pro, Apple said on Tuesday that it is doubling the cash-back offer for the Apple Card on Apple hardware purchases to 6% until the end of the year.

Roommates, do you think you’ll be coppin’ the new Mac Pro? Let us know!
